Songs the Earth Already Knows, The Brushstroke Poetry Collection
This series of paintings was born from a deep listening to the land, light, and living traditions of New Mexico and the Acoma Pueblo people, one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America. The bold, expressive brushstrokes echo the fine lines, organic rhythms, and a fearless relationship between color and form. These works translate the sacred geography of the high desert into our visual experience.
Each painting draws from a palette rooted in the earth itself: the deep turquoise of sacred stone, the amber of sun-baked adobe, the red of canyon walls at dusk, and the blue of the sky about to break open and rain.
It’s a series in conversation and honoring of the potters who shapedthis visual language across generations, the ceremonies that keep the people and land alive, and the profound beauty of place where the earth, sky, and human hand always understand one another.
Songs the Earth Already Knows is an ongoing series. The land continues to speak. The work continues to listen.
